Outline of a lab report
The title is when you describe in a specific and scientific way what you have done.
The abstract is one of the most important parts in a lab report, since this one summarizes what you did or studied, how you did it and the most important conclusions and result obtained. In other words, the abstract summarizes the whole lab report.
Introduction. In this section of the lab report, you should include all the background information and equations that support the study. In the introduction you should name all variables content in the equations and also name the equations so that it can be referenced later.
Materials and Methods. In this section you should name all the equipments that were used during the experiment and the procedure follow to do the experiment should be described in a way that other people are able to perfectly follow your steps.
The results are where the data that were obtained during the experiment is sumarized.in the result you should provide tables and graphs, and in the discussion part, the results should be explained critically.
Conclusion. During the conclusion you cannot introduce any new information, you just have to summarize the main goals of the experiment and certified if they were successfully proved.
Acknowledgements is the part used to thank and appreciate all people that contributed to the study.
In References, you should put all the sources that were cited in the lab report.
The appendixes are used to place all long tables of data and information that are not overriding for the understanding of the body of your report.
